BANG KACHAO
Selected as the Best Urban Oasis in TIME Magazine in 2006, Bang Kachao nature reserve covers more than 20,000 rais (7,900 acres) of land encircled by an oxbow curve in the Chao Phraya River and just 2 kilometres from the central business district.
Nicknamed “the lungs of Bangkok”, the area has been designated by His Royal Highness King Bhumibol as a permanent nature reserve.
Bang Kachao lies immediately south of the river below Rama III and the new Bhumibol Bridge.
